It's been cold here, so we continued to spend time indoors. There were a few days though where we were able to sneak out and go on a short walk.

We worked on sending out the last of our Christmas cards and prepared to fly to Utah for Christmas.

You love toilets!

Daddy and I did sneak out on a date though to go see the movie Wonder. The movie was really good. Daddy loved it! He cried like a baby, he said he had never cried so much during a movie before. Miss Aubri watched you and you were so good for her!

You decided to draw on your forehead.

We played with fake mustaches one evening, you kept ripping Mommy's off.

And everything at home has started to break: the flanges on both of our toilets broke, the light switch to our ceiling fan started making funny noises and smelt like it was burning and you broke your dresser draw. We are on a roll. Hopefully nothing else brakes.

Opening things is your favorite!

Cooped Up Inside

We've been cooped up in side for awhile, Bubba. It has been incredibly cold, by cold I mean the highs are in the 30s and the lows are in the 20s, add in the humidity and it's COLD! We have spent most of the past week inside. I keep wondering where the rain is. Usually, it rains a lot in the winter and we can at least get outside and walk because it's warmer, but this is not your typical Oregon winter.

Hi Mom.

One day I decided to put your stuffed puppy on your toy racecar and drive it around the house. Almost instantly you decided to chase after the puppy. It's super cute and fun to watch!

You also figured out how to get into the drawer in our entryway table. You pulled out the garage door opener and opened the garage. You are one smart little boy!

Cottage cheese is my favorite!

The highlight for the week was going to the ward Christmas party. We ate food, learned to hula and I sang with the Young Women. We wanted you to sit on Santa's lap but the line was really long and it was bedtime for you. Maybe we can get you on Santa's lap before Christmas gets here.

As far as development goes, you started cutting your third tooth. This tooth is on the top. You have been a little grouchy because of it.

We sure love you little bug! You light up our world!

Bubba's 1 Year Checkup

Two big things happened this week, Bubba, the first was that you had your one year checkup with the doctor. You are growing and developing just as you should. You weigh 19 pounds and 12 ounces and you are 29 inches tall (these measurements put you in the 20th and 30th percentiles).

I felt bad when it was time for your vaccinations, you got 5 and were not happy about it. I don't blame you, I probably wouldn't have been very happy had it been me getting the shots.

The other big thing that happened is we decided to try out a new sleep training program. Daddy and I have been feeling so worn out and we can't keep going off such interrupted sleep. My friend told us about a program called Taking Cara Babies. We have done two days so far and we are incredibly tired, but you are sleeping so much better! We will see what the next few weeks hold for us. This program has a 98% success rate after two weeks. We are keeping our fingers crossed!

The weather has turned cold and wet recently so we have been spending a lot more time inside.

Daddy went and got us a Christmas Tree. My one request was that he bring home a Charlie Brown looking noble fir. He came home with a noble fir that was about 14 feet tall, it touched the top of our vaulted ceiling. He said all of the trees were the same price regardless of size and he picked out the best looking one. I had him but the bottom of the tree off to make it shorter-- it looked a lot better that way.

We also went to the Creche Exhibit. I really enjoyed listening to the different music groups perform and looking at all of the different nativities. I don't collect anything, but I may have to have Papa start bring a nativity back for me each time he visits another country.
