Poop Jail

The week started out with a bang! While Daddy was changing your diaper one night you decided to poop in his hand not once, but twice. And then it sounded like it was raining in our bedroom, we quickly realized you were peeing. You peed all over Dad's pillow-- it was soaked! When you were done, you smiled. Mommy laughed so hard she cried. Daddy said he was going to send you to "poop jail." Don't worry, Mommy didn't let that happen.

We went back to the doctor this week because you didn't put on much weight the week before. You put on six ounce, you still in the 19th percentile but the doctor was okay with that since your percentile didn't go down anymore. You are one tall baby! You are currently in the 100th percentile for height. We often wonder how tall you will be? But we can wait to find out, please don't grow up too fast!

Papa came to visit this weekend too! He was so nice and helped change your clothes and diapers. He played with you and held you. We just love our Papa!

Beautiful Boy

Just before Bubba was born we watched the movie Mr. Holland's Opus. I had seen the movie many years ago in a sign language class but Andy had never seen it (the movie is super good and we highly recommend it). At the end of the movie Mr. Holland signs John Lennon's song Beautiful Boy to his son. Andy and I were so touched by the words of this song. Once we brought Bubba home from the hospital we found ourselves singing this song to him. It has since become Bubba's song.

Close your eyes
Have no fear
The monster's gone
He's on the run and your daddy's here

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Before you go to sleep
Say a little prayer
Every day in every way, it's getting better and better

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Out on the ocean sailing away
I can hardly wait
To see you come of age
But I guess we'll both just have to be patient
'Cause it's a long way to go
A hard row to hoe
Yes, it's a long way to go
But in the meantime

Before you cross the street
Take my hand
Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Before you go to sleep
Say a little prayer
Every day in every way, it's getting better and better

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Darling, darling, darling

Love Bubba

Hi everyone! It's me, Bubba! The past two weeks have been pretty eventful. My acid reflux medicine ran out and that was really bad! I started throwing up a lot more and I cried a lot because it hurt. Mommy took me to the doctor and I threw up all over her coat. So she took her coat off and I threw up all over her shirt. I felt bad for her because I got her all dirty but there wasn't much I could do about it. Since she is such a nice Mommy she didn't get mad at me. Instead, she went to the pharmacy covered in my throw up and waited for them to fill my prescription.

Mama and Me.

Silly Mama, that's not where pants go!

The doctor asked Mommy to quit eating dairy to see if it helps with my acid reflux and Mommy agreed. I know that is a huge sacrifice for Mommy as she loves her dairy. I just want her to know how much I appreciate it!

Recently I learned how to roll onto my side. I can't roll all the way over yet, but I'm working on it.

Mommy and Daddy went to their biweekly parenting meeting and I got to see all of my friends, it was awesome! I love having friends!

Mama and Me! I'm not so fond of my bear suit.

Mommy took me back to the doctor for my two month check up- we sure go to the doctor a lot. Because of my acid reflux I only put on 1 ounce instead of 7. The doctor was concerned as I dropped from the 80th percentile for weight down to the 19th. Guess who gets to go back to the doctor next week? Me that's who!

Mommy was brave and took me grocery shopping. All of the grandmas and grandpas were out shopping that day, they all had to stop and look at me. They think I'm cute!

I also visited the library for the first time. The librarian was nice and let Mommy pick out a free book for me. Mommy chose a book about tractors, I can't wait for Daddy to read it to me!

Daddy has been making me do tummy time. I hate tummy time! I don't know why he makes me do it. He says it will help me hold my head up but I'm not so sure.

I went to church for the first time. Church was really long but it was good. I loved all of music, it made me feel safe and happy.

Super Bubba!

I know Mommy and Daddy work really hard to make sure I am happy and I really appreciate it! I tried to show my appreciation for them by giving them the best gift I could think of, sleep. I slept for 7 hours one night, 6 hours the next night and 5 hours the day after that. I know they needed the rest.

I just love my Mommy and Daddy! They are the BEST!

A Bunch Of Firsts

Bubba, you are 9 weeks old today! I know I say it every week but I just can't believe it!

Aubri (the neighbor) is getting ready to go on a mission and she loves babies. Apparently missionaries aren't allowed to hold babies, so she is trying to get her baby fix in right now. She texts Mommy when she is free and then you have about an hour long "date" with Aubri. This has been a win-win for both parties. Aubri gets to hold you and Mommy has been able to go to the gym, I even snuck out on a date with Daddy.

I don't know how or why but you decided to start taking naps, this is amazing! I have been able to catch up on a little sleep myself, make dinner and bake cookies. The downside to you taking naps is that you have been up more at night, I haven't decided if I like this trade off yet.

You went on your first walk in the stroller this week. It was pretty cold out but we kept you covered. You didn't seem to mind riding in your stroller.

I'm not sure when you're really supposed to start doing this, but you learned how to roll onto your side and you also learned how to scoot off of your changing pad. Speaking of your changing pad, it is your favorite place to lay. You like to look up at the ceiling fan and you coo up a storm.

You also pooped in Dad's hand. Daddy was changing you and you decided to surprise him by pooping in his hand- it was awesome!

We sure love you Little Bear!

Bubba At 2 Months

You're 2 months old today, Bubba! It's kind of like a birthday of sorts for you!

You love to take baths, you just don't like getting out of the water. You enjoy riding in your stroller and going on walks. You love laying on your changing pad. You like to kick your legs and are learning to hold your head up. You hate dirty diapers and aren't afraid to let us know when you need changed. You love looking at lights and other shiny objects. You like to coo and smile. We just love you!
